Good Morning Island Club
I hope you’re all doing well. As we continue moving through the effects of the recent freeze, we are closely monitoring plant material across the property. We are actively working alongside the Landscape Maintenance Committee (LMC) and will begin compiling formal plant evaluation lists starting Monday March 2. That review process will continue over the next couple of months to ensure we take the proper steps heading into summer recovery.
Please note that these reports are prepared by Troy Fulford with contributions from members of the Island Club Landscape Committee.
Below is a summary of this past week’s activity and what’s ahead next week:
Last Week Ending February 27, 2026
Fully mowed the entire property
Applied fertilizer to all turf areas and landscape beds on Monday
Continued leaf drop removal throughout both Ocean and River sections all week
Completed routine trim schedule on the Ocean side
Transitioned trimming operations to Manor Road
Began trimming operations in Riverside
Continued non-selective herbicide bed spraying on Manor Road and Ocean side sections
Crews have remained focused on maintaining overall presentation while also managing the increased leaf drop resulting from the freeze.
This Week's Plan Beginning March 2, 2026
Full lake bank weed-eating in the Riverside section
Edging of all cement and landscape beds on Monday
Tree crews onsite all week to complete mangrove trimming along Jungle Trail
Continued trimming operations throughout the Riverside section
I will be onsite Monday with the LMC to begin plant counts and evaluations to determine proper steps moving forward into the summer months
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we carefully assess plant recovery and prepare a thoughtful plan moving forward. Our goal is to protect the long-term health and appearance of the property while maintaining strong weekly service standards.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Best regards,
Troy
