Waste Management

Island Club Residents

Our contract with Waste Mangement ends September 30, 2025. Indian River County has assumed the responsibility for collecting our trash effective October 1, 2025. The County has selected Waste Management as their sub - contractor to fullfill their obligation to collect our trash.

As part of this transition, Waste Management will be picking up the two trash bins (referred to as "Carts") we currently use and providing each resident with three new carts. All new carts are the larger version (95 gallon) of what you currently have from Waste Management.

The third cart is part of the County's expanded service to include yard waste. This does not replace the yard waste pick up currently provided as part of our landscape contract.

The message contained in the link below describes the full details of  plan for this new service.

The new carts have already been delivered to many Island Club homes.  Seasonal residents who have departed will need to have their caretakers move the new carts into their garage. All residents are instructed to continue to use their current (old) carts until the new service begins.

Island HOA rules require that carts may not remain curbside or visible from the front of the home after the trash has been picked up. Please make every effort to get the carts into the garage. Even a minor storm could turn these carts into projectiles that could damage windows, screen enclosers, etc.

Waste Management will pick up old carts curbside ONLY on collection days whch is still Friday for Island Club. The old carts should be staged for curbside collection as per the instructions in the link.

Please read the details of the return process carefully.
