Island Club Weekly Operations Update
As we continue through the busy summer growing season, we would like to welcome a new member to the Yellowstone Landscape team, Charles Wolfly, who joined our staff approximately two weeks ago. Charles has already had the opportunity to meet several members of the Island Club community and will be working alongside Troy over the coming months as an additional set of eyes on property while transitioning into the Account Manager role for Island Club. His primary focus will be assisting with daily property inspections, overseeing upcoming planting enhancements, and helping coordinate our routine maintenance operations.
Over the past several weeks, we've also had numerous productive discussions with the Landscape Maintenance Committee regarding plant replacement priorities, freeze damage recovery, and overall property improvements. We appreciate the continued collaboration and look forward to implementing these enhancements throughout the summer.
Work Completed – Week Ending June 26, 2026
Completed the scheduled full-property mowing operation on Monday, June 22, utilizing an 8-man mowing crew, allowing the entire property to be completed in a single day.
Continued herbicide applications throughout both Riverside and Oceanside, with increased focus on:
Crack and paver weed control
Sidewalk and curb line weed control
Landscape bed weed management
Completed scheduled trimming operations throughout Riverside.
Began routine trimming operations in Oceanside as scheduled.
Performed substantial pruning, hard cutbacks, and plant removals along Manor Road in preparation for approved landscape renovations and freeze-damaged plant replacements.
Applied targeted chinch bug treatments to identified hotspot areas, primarily within Riverside turf areas.
Work Scheduled – Week Ending July 3, 2026
Complete the scheduled full-property mowing operation on Monday, June 29, utilizing our full mowing crews.
Continue routine trimming operations throughout Oceanside.
Continue Manor Road enhancement work, with the goal of beginning installation of approved replacement plant material where possible.
If planting installation cannot begin before the holiday, full planting operations are anticipated during the week ending July 10.
Continue monitoring turf conditions for additional chinch bug activity and perform spot treatments as needed throughout the property.
Overall sod conditions continue to look favorable despite the increase in seasonal heat and rainfall.
Complete final cleanup of all landscape debris piles on Thursday, July 2.
Please note that Friday, July 3, will be Yellowstone Landscape's observed Independence Day holiday. No crews will be onsite that day, and normal operations will resume on Monday, July 6.
Seasonal Update
Summer has officially reached its peak growing season, bringing daily temperatures approaching 95°F, afternoon rain showers, and consistently high humidity. These conditions create the highest annual pressure for turf growth, weeds, and landscape maintenance. Our crews will continue working diligently to stay ahead of seasonal growth through routine mowing, trimming, weed control, and scheduled cutbacks while maintaining the overall appearance and health of the community.
As always, we sincerely appreciate the continued support and communication from the Island Club community and Landscape Maintenance Committee. Thank you for your partnership, and we look forward to continuing to enhance and maintain the property throughout the summer season.
